Williams’ Popularity As A Premier Unmatched In Canadian History
HALIFAX: Danny Williams departs on a high note, according to the most recent survey conducted by Corporate Research Associates Inc. Overall satisfaction with the performance of the PC government remains extremely high. Currently, nine in ten (90%, up from 87%, three months ago) residents are either completely or mostly satisfied with the performance of the PC government, while under one in ten (7%, down from 10%) are dissatisfied.
In terms of voting intentions, three-quarters (75%, compared with 76%, in August 2010) of decided voters back the PCs, while less than two in ten (16%, compared with 17%) prefer the Liberals. Eight percent (compared with 7%) support the NDP. Those with no stated preference included those who were undecided (27%), do not plan to vote (2%), or refuse to state a preference (2%).

Preference for Liberal Leader Yvonne Jones as Premier stands at 10 percent (compared with 11%) and backing for NDP Leader Lorraine Michael rests at nine percent (up from 6%). Five percent like none of these leaders or have no definite opinion.
Finally, nine in ten residents rate the job Danny Williams has done as Premier as excellent or good (92%, compared with 83% in November 2009), while just seven percent believe he has done an only fair or poor job (compared with 16%).
“Danny Williams has enjoyed unprecedented levels of public support”, according to Don Mills, President & CEO of Corporate Research Associates. “He leaves office as Canada’s most popular Premier and a record of personal popularity that will be difficult to match.”
