The 20 Best Places to Work in Atlantic Canada
The Best Places to Work program recognizes organizations who demonstrate best practices in Atlantic Canada. This year, Progress Magazine partnered with Best Companies Group in an effort to offer regional organizations the opportunity to elevate their workplaces.
In total, 11 Nova Scotian and 7 New Brunswick companies ranked in this year’s top 20. Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland each had one company on the list. AMBIR, an IT company in Saint John, NB ranked 1st.
Organizations that chose to participate completed an extensive two-part survey, including an organizational overview of the company’s policies and procedures as well as an in-depth employee questionnaire. The survey, analysis, and ranking were conducted by Best Companies Group and ModernThink LLC, a research and consulting firm specializing in workplace excellence.
In an environment where recruitment in increasingly challenging, good employers recognize that an effective workplace has a real impact on their bottom line. According to Peter Burke, president of Best Companies Group, “identifying outstanding employers is a very effective way of recognizing the importance of creating cultures where employees love to come to work. From recruiting advantages to increased morale, these organizations will enjoy many benefits from this prestigious distinction. All companies that participated also received the results of their employee survey, which will be used to help make their companies even better places to work.”
The Best Places to Work luncheon, hosted by Progress Magazine, was co-sponsored by the Atlantic Lottery Corporation, Saint Mary’s University, Nova Scotia Come to Life, and MT&L Public Relations.
