Moncton consumer confidence reaches its highest level in seven years
- Consumer confidence in Moncton is strong, and has risen to its highest level since August 2011
- There continues to be majority satisfaction with the performance of Moncton Council under Mayor Arnold’s leadership
HALIFAX, NS August 15, 2018: Consumer confidence in Moncton continues to be strong this quarter, reaching its highest level since August 2011, according to the most recent Urban Report survey conducted by Corporate Research Associates Inc. (CRA). Specifically, Moncton consumer confidence rests at 108.4, compared with 106.4 in May 2018. Across the region, Moncton residents boast the strongest consumer confidence among the four urban markets included in this study.
Satisfaction with Moncton Council is now at its highest level since May 2017. Specifically, just over six in ten (63%, compared with 56% three months ago) Moncton residents are satisfied with the performance of Council under the leadership of Mayor Dawn Arnold.
These results are part of the CRA Urban Report, an independent telephone survey of adult residents and consists of 400 Halifax CMA, 400 Saint John CMA, 300 Moncton CMA, and 400 Fredericton CA residents, conducted from July 19 to August 8, 2018, with overall results for each accurate to within ±4.9 percentage points for Halifax, Saint John, and Fredericton, and ±5.7 percentage points for Moncton, 95 out of 100 times. The survey results for government satisfaction are based on 400 Halifax CMA residents (±4.9 percentage points, 95% confidence level), 225 City of Saint John residents (±6.5 percentage points), 149 City of Moncton residents (±8.0 percentage points), and 296 City of Fredericton residents (±5.7 percentage points).
