Moncton Consumer Confidence at Highest Level in Three Years
Halifax: Moncton and Halifax consumer confidence has climbed this quarter, according to the most recent Urban Report Survey conducted by Corporate Research Associates Inc. (CRA). This quarter, both Moncton (107.0, up from 101.8 in May 2014) and Halifax (102.5, up from 98.4) experienced an increase in confidence, while confidence in Fredericton (100.8, down from 101.3) and Saint John (97.5, down from 98.0) each experienced tiny decreases. Of note, Moncton consumer confidence has fluctuated over the last three years and is currently at its highest level since August 2011.
“Consumer confidence in the largest municipal cities in the Maritimes is in the positive range with the exception of Saint John,” said Don Mills, Chairman and CEO of Corporate Research Associates, Inc. “The City of Moncton continues to have the highest consumer confidence among the four cities tracked.”
These results are part of the CRA Urban Report, an independent telephone survey of Halifax CMA, Saint John CMA, Moncton CMA, and Fredericton CA residents. The results are based on an adult sample of 400 Halifax CMA, 407 Saint John CMA, 409 Moncton CMA, and 400 Fredericton CA residents, conducted from July 21 to August 6, 2014, with overall results for each accurate to within ±4.9 percentage points, 95 out of 100 times.
