Consumer confidence in Fredericton improves this quarter
- Consumer confidence in Fredericton has improved slightly, compared with three months ago
- Although the level of satisfaction with the performance of Council under Mayor Mike O’Brien’s leadership remains high this quarter, a decline over the past six months is noted
HALIFAX, NS May 17, 2017: Consumer confidence in Fredericton has increased slightly this quarter, according to the most recent Urban Report survey conducted by Corporate Research Associates Inc. (CRA). Specifically, consumer confidence among Fredericton residents currently stands at 105.1, compared with 102.6 three months ago.
Although satisfaction with the performance of the Fredericton Council under the leadership of Mayor Mike O’Brien remains at a high level, there has been a steady decline in satisfaction over the past six months. Specifically, seven in ten (70%, compared with 75% in February 2017, and 78% in November 2016) Fredericton residents are satisfied with the performance of the Council under Mayor O’Brien’s leadership.
These results are part of the CRA Urban Report, an independent telephone survey of adult residents and consists of 400 Halifax CMA, 400 Saint John CMA, 400 Moncton CMA, and 400 Fredericton CA residents, conducted from April 19 to May 6, 2017, with overall results for each accurate to within ±4.9 percentage points, 95 out of 100 times. The survey results for government satisfaction are based on 400 Halifax CMA residents (±4.9 percentage points, 95% confidence level), 211 City of Saint John residents (±6.7 percentage points), 209 City of Moncton residents (±6.8 percentage points), and 290 City of Fredericton residents (±5.7 percentage points).
